Football history legend: Maradona – the contrast in a genius

The news of the legendary Maradona’s death at the age of 60 shocked the world. In modern history, not many people have the ability to make the whole world go crazy with their magical performances, beautiful goals.

The man is only 1.65m tall has made the world look up admiringly. Therefore, the period of three days of national mourning that the Argentine government decided to give him to many people was still too short.

However, besides the moments of genius, Maradona is also a human with many bad habits. He was sent back home as a player for doping. After retiring from the field, he fell into addiction with some love scandals.

Those are the opposites that make a Maradona great! Maradona’s influence is covering the pitch in the matches in which he is present. That is obvious. But the influence that goes beyond the field of the pitch, transcends all borders, becomes an endless source of inspiration for all words and emotions is admirable in him. That influence comes from the spirit of dedication to the Fatherland, absolute devotion to sport and also the intense sincerity in each emotional state – both positive and negative. Therefore, even when he became a football legend, had a life of glory, he still did not deliberately cover his poor past.

Although he later failed to succeed as a coach, his on the pitch in his career and in real life is more than enough for him to become an immortal legend. He was respected by the aristocracy and loved by the common people.

Since Maradona retired, world football has continued to produce many great stars. But no one can take his place except for Pele. People are willing to forget or ignore all the mistakes of Maradona and only remember the positives of a genius because of the great inspiration he brought to Argentina in particular and world football in general.
